Waller ISD (WISD) recognized bus driver Elizabeth Cline for her quick actions during an accident that occurred on Sept. 26 where her bus, which was loaded with high school students, was hit head-on by an 18-wheeler.

Cline’s immediate actions helped ensure the safety of her students. Immediately following the accident, she stayed calm, quickly reported the accident, checked on her students, and moved them to a safe location to await the arrival of first responders. There were no major injuries.

“It is a bus driver’s worst nightmare to face what she did, but she handled it with bravery and heroism,” said Audrey Ambridge, chief financial officer. “The district is very grateful for her valiant efforts.”
