WALLER — Waller Independent School District has closed on a 16.118-acre tract in Jubilee for a new elementary school expected to serve approximately 850 students.
The school will be located at the southwest corner of Joyful Life Drive and Cheerful Trail near the model home park. Approximately 175 acres have been set aside for schools within the Johnson Development community.
“Having an onsite school plays an important role in our efforts to deliver a community centered on the well-being of residents,” said June Tang, Vice President and General Manager of Jubilee. “What could be more comforting to parents than knowing their young children attend school close to home?”
Cost for design and construction of the school will be included in a bond package expected to go to voters in November.
“Waller ISD is excited to join the Jubilee community,” Superintendent Kevin Moran said. “We look forward to partnering together to care for our kids and community for many years in the future.”
Waller ISD currently serves just over 9,400 students and expects that number to reach to more than 14,000 by 2027. There are three elementary schools now under construction in the district.
Currently, Jubilee is zoned to I.T. Holleman Elementary, Waller Junior High and Waller High School.
Eight builders have begun home sales in Jubilee — Chesmar Homes, Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes, Tri Pointe Homes and Westin Homes. Pricing is from the $330,000s.
Located in Hockley just south of Highway 290 and a few miles from the Grand Parkway, Jubilee is planned for approximately 4,200 homes. Learn more about the Johnson Development community at www.liveinjubilee.com.
