Waller High School’s (WHS) UIL Academic Team claimed runner up in regional competition after competing against 68 schools at the 2021 Region III-5A Academic Meet. This success comes after winning the District Sweepstakes Championship. Now, 15 students will move on to compete at the State UIL Meet on May 1.
“It is quite remarkable to see the Waller team at work preparing during competition,” WHS UIL Coordinator Scotty Johnson said. “Though we are separated by event teams, we are one big Waller team supporting each other. I have known some of our team members for five or six years and I have seen them build for this. I am so proud of them.”

“In the next two weeks, no school in Texas is going to work as hard as Waller HS,” Johnson said. “That is why we have been so successful over the last 20 years. Our kids have the talent, but they combine that with a work ethic that is extraordinary.”
